Da Vinci XI Surgical System Trained
Specialist training conducted in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, namely Newcastle, Christchurch and Liverpool. Michael first came to New Zealand in 1980 and worked as a house surgeon in Dunedin before eventually going back to the United Kingdom to start his training in obstetrics and gynaecology at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Specialist training was undertaken both in the UK and back in New Zealand, starting as a registrar in Christchurch in 1983 and finally settling back in Christchurch in 1988 after completing specialist training, the final leg of which was to obtain a Masters in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through Liverpool University.
