Matt is a specialist in lower limb disorders and treats conditions of the hip, knee, foot and ankle. He has a special interest in the management of foot and ankle conditions and is also a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Middlemore Hospital.

Matt is currently furthering his research into patient-reported outcome measures. These are a way to more objectively quantify a patient’s difficulties and follow their progress over time and with treatment. Matt also maintains an interest in contemporary joint replacement implants, their designs and failure mechanisms.
