Hugh Blackley is a New Zealand trained orthopaedic surgeon with overseas subspecialty training in lower limb surgery. He has postgraduate training in hip and knee replacement surgery in particular complex joint replacement and revision (repeat) joint replacement surgery. Mr Blackley was Involved in the first use of computer assisted surgery (CAOS) in New Zealand and minimally invasive surgery (MIS) joint replacement surgery and carried out the first hip resurfacing in New Zealand.

Mr Blackley has been an orthopaedic specialist at Auckland City Hospital since 1999 where he is also involved in Clinical Research and Fellowship Training. He has been in private practice since 1999.
